Poovar Beach is approximately a 45 minutes drive from Kovalam. Poovar Beach serves as the dividing line between the Neyyar River and the sea. Essentially a fishing village, Poovar Beach is a beautiful less explored, less ventured beach destination. Poovar Beach is accessible by water taxis only. Beach activities and other adventurous water sports are not welcome because of the majority fishing population.
