this only Lake Temple in the God's Own Country is the original Seat
Of Anathapadmanabha Swami. Devotees from far flung areas travel
to Ananthapura Lake Temple to get a darshan of Lord Vishnu. Located
5 km away from Kumbla in Kasargode District, the doors of the lake
temple are open for visitors or devotees.
The
temple houses a beautiful image of Shree Padmanabha (Lord Vishnu) seated on Adisesha, the serpent god. An ancient shrine is
engulfed by a chuttambalam and its walls have beautiful mural.
The lake temple is situated in the heart of the Ananthapura Lake in a tranquil ambience.
Perched on a rocky hill, one can
have a panoramic view of the luscious surrounding. It is believed that a lone crocodile inhabits the lake. So be a little
more careful while traveling to the lake temple. It is a venue of Thapotsavam, an annual one-day festival. This festival is
held in the month of April.
